Civic Learning Rubric Call One Agenda

2:00  Introduction of team, request for bio and picture (https://civiclearningrubric.wordpress.com/team-members/)
2:10  Introduction of Wende Garrison, facilitator (https://civiclearningrubric.wordpress.com/2015/06/12/wende-garrison/)
2:15  Rubric creation process (via conference calls)

  • At least 12 calls must be completed before the end of the calendar year
  • Calls are every other week and are 90 minutes
  • Question:  establish one regular date/time or always be setting up unique times in advance?
  • Steps
  • Establish criteria
  • Divide up line writing work, write drafts ahead of time, distribute
  • Team members read drafted rubric lines ahead of time, making notes and being ready to comment during the call
  • We walk through lines–discussing and wordsmithing–on the call, using consensus model
  • Scoring with rubric after three lines are done and again after all lines are drafted
  • Write other elements of rubric
  • Follow VALUE Rubric Protocols

  • Review the existing criteria and make notes on your thoughts so you can be ready to contribute to the next call
  • Brainstorm adding specificity to the existing criteria
  • Our goal for the next call:  having two criteria we all approve
